Global Student Cultural Learning Program
ASEI Exchange is built on the principle that authentic cultural learning occurs when students engage directly with peers in different parts of the world.
Students participate in small group discussions, with 3–5 International students paired with 3–5 Ugandan students. Each session runs for 60 minutes on secure platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet, and is guided by structured themes to encourage purposeful conversation. Outside of live sessions, students may continue to connect through moderated, logged group channels, ensuring interaction remains both safe and transparent.
This accessible model provides international schools with a manageable, curriculum-aligned way to deliver global citizenship learning while directly advancing STEM education opportunities in
Uganda

- Every international participant directly funds ASEI’s STEM programs, creating tangible improvements in classrooms and communities
How it Works
Each ASEI Exchange cycle consists of 3–5 online sessions, each lasting 60 minutes. Groups of students meet regularly to discuss structured themes:
- Daily Life & Culture – comparing school routines, traditions, and experiences.
- Community & Challenges – exploring local issues and community perspectives.
- STEM & Sustainability – examining how science and innovation address everyday challenges.
- Future Aspirations & Shared Goals – discussing ambitions, career interests, and shared visions for the future.
- (Optional) Music, Sport & Storytelling – celebrating culture, creativity, and shared interests.
Safeguarding is central to the program:
- Teachers are present in all live sessions.
- All online interactions occur in moderated, logged channels.
- Parental or guardian consent is mandatory.
- A clear Code of Conduct ensures safe, respectful, and constructive participation.

Impact Model
Participation in ASEI Exchange carries a contribution of USD $25 per international student.
Every $25 directly funds ASEI’s STEM education programs and is sufficient to provide a full year of education for a Ugandan student. This ensures that each international participant is not only engaging in valuable intercultural learning, but also directly enabling access to transformative educational opportunities abroad.
At the conclusion of each cycle, schools receive a concise impact report outlining participation, session highlights, and how contributions have been applied within ASEI’s programs.
