Why ASEI Exchange

ASEI Exchange bridges the gap between global education and local African realities — connecting students, SMEs, and industry in ways that create real, lasting impact.

Students need an understanding of context — social-cultural and environmental — to innovate effectively and create solutions that truly work.

Most SMEs based in Africa are offline and not digital native. ASEI connects them to global audiences and digital tools that unlock new growth.

Local SMEs in Africa have low capacity for innovation. ASEI Exchange brings fresh perspectives and skills to help them grow and compete.

Current student study programs are not fully co-creating with industry. ASEI Exchange closes this gap with structured real-world collaboration.

What the Program Offers

ASEI Exchange connects students globally to real world industry design problems in Africa — creating meaningful learning through direct engagement with local challenges and opportunities.

Access to Industry Designed Projects

Students work on real projects designed by African industry partners, gaining hands-on experience solving challenges that matter on the ground.

Specially Designed Industry Events

Structured events focused on industry problems and opportunities — bringing together students, SMEs, and experts to explore Africa’s biggest challenges.

Co-Creation with Ugandan Students

International students collaborate directly with Ugandan peers, building cross-cultural understanding while co-creating solutions with local context.
