ALICWAMU MOSES
Moses is a Founder, Engineer and Programs Director at ASEI. He is responsible for research, planning, development and implementation of the organization’s programs/projects. He holds a BSc. (Hons) in Agric and Bio-systems Engineering from Gulu University from where he developed a web-based solar powered IoT system for monitoring the quality of water resources in real-time.
Formerly an engineering intern at National Water and Sewerage Corporation(NWSC) – Fort Portal and a junior fellow at Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation – CREEC, Makerere University, Moses was responsible for the day to day operation of the water treatment plant and repair and maintenance of water channels within Fort Portal. At CREEC, he was attached to the solar department, and was involved in sizing of solar PV systems, quality testing of solar equipment on market, and conducting pilot studies within the renewable energy space.
Moses’ passion for Science, Engineering and Innovation spans several years from his time at King Solomon’s College – Kyatega when he was first called Engineer to studying an engineering degree at Gulu University to now a founder of ASEI – Uganda. He is a recipient of the bronze medal from the Efficiency for Access Design Challenge – a UKaid and IKEA Foundation funded initiative to accelerate design of sustainable technologies in the clean energy appliances sector.
