RICHARD RIDGE

Mr Richard is a senior consultant – Owner of DidgeNet and has previously worked with  Applied Network solutions as the senior consultant, Irigital as the senior database consultant, TAL Life LTD as the senior database administrator and contract DBA, telstra as the database team leader, and he held various positions at first Data corporation as the Database, storage and Unix manager, APAC database manager, Reporting, database & business applications manager and Senior SQL server / Oracle DBA.

Mr Richard has 15 years + experience in the IT industry including working in both Australia and internationally predominantly for global financial, telecommunications and retail companies. This includes technical background working with large relational database platforms including SQL Server and Oracle software and management of DB2 platforms. Management experience includes running large multi-functional teams (20-30 staff) with a combination of onshore and offshore resources.

His strengths lie with building and maintaining high performing technical teams, developing positive vendor relationships and fostering an environment that encourages continuous development and improvement. Microsoft 365 Cloud consulting, cyber security, Intune and advanced 365 configuration using E5/A5 licensing to meet ISO27001 certification requirements.

JOHN GGOLOOBA NGOBI

Mr John Ggolooba Ngobi is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a certificate from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied Accounting degree from Oxford Brookes University UK and an Advanced Diploma in accounting and Finance from ACCA.
He is a detail-oriented self-starter with experience in the insurance sector in relation to insurance accounting, investment accounting, corporate financial reporting, auditing and treasury management together with statistical data analysis while applying analytical techniques in the study of financial information.

Mr John Ggolooba Ngobi worked under the General Insurance, Medical Insurance, Asset Management and Life Assurance of which Top 3 market position has been maintained and currently working with the market leader in the Life business for the last 3 years consistently.

PROF. IAN JACOBS

Professor Ian Jacobs has been the President and Vice Chancellor of UNSW-Sydney since 2015 and Chair of the Group of 8 universities since February 2018. Prior, he was the Dean of Medicine at University College London from 2009-11 and Vice President of the University of Manchester from 2011-15.
He qualified in medicine at Cambridge University and the University of London before specializing in the treatment of Women’s cancers. He has for the last 30 years led a research team working on early detection and risk prediction of cancer with a particular focus on screening for Ovarian Cancer, which has led to grant awards >50m GBP, over 400 publications and an H-Index of >70.
In 2005, he established the Uganda Women’s Health Initiative, which conducts a series of projects in Uganda including cervical cancer screening programme. He has been president of the British Gynecological Cancer Society and the European Society of Gynecological Oncology. He is Emeritus Trustee of the Eve Appeal charity which he founded in 1985 and a non-Executive Director of Abcodia Ltd, a medical diagnostic company he founded as a spin of his research in 2010.

Since August 2019, Victoria has been a business analyst at Deloitte, Kampala – Uganda. Her work involves creating detailed business analyses, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for businesses, Planning and Monitoring, Variance Analysis, Reporting and Defining business requirements and reporting them back to stakeholders
Prior to the role, she was in charge of consultancy at Air Water Earth, Kampala – Uganda where her roles included working with clients to assess their needs and translate them into designs for new systems by managing the project timelines and overseeing all developments, assessing projects for technical issues and providing solutions to resolve them without affecting completion deadlines and other external factors through performance of Environmental and Social Impact Analysis (ESIA).
In 2017, she was a water quality analysis intern at National Water and Sewerage Corporation – Kampala where she was engaged in collecting samples and performing routine chemical, bacteriological, and physical tests; perform the most complex bacteriological, chemical, physical, and microbiological examinations of water and Reviewing monitoring programs relating to treatment plant processes and system compliance. Vicky graduated from Gulu University with a First Class Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from where she took leadership roles as a gender and women affairs minister for Gulu University Engineering Students Association and treasurer for Rotaract Club of Gulu University.

TUHAIRWE FRED

Fred boasts of a seven years’ experience in the Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) sector of Uganda with skills in project planning and Management, design and development of Renewable Energy systems and projects i.e., biogas, Wind, solar, micro/mini-grid and clean cooking systems. Over the years he has gathered more experience working with rural off-grid business models, technologies, and mini/micro grid management systems, Energy Auditing. He has management experience with International Certification Services (ICS) and knowledge of ISO 17025 for laboratory management and a certified lead auditor of ISO 9001-2008 for manufacturing and ISO 50001:2011: Energy Management Systems.
Since 2018, Fred has been a project manager at Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and was in charge of solar home systems (SHS) for two years. His roles included Coordinating market assessment, gender, and geospatial analysis studies to identify barriers to the uptake of SHS and designing innovative interventions to address barriers to uptake of SHS in low-income households in Mbarara and Gulu.
Currently, he is an assistant Project manager, Solar Powered irrigation, and Climate Smart Agriculture Project at GGGI where he mainly designs and coordinates Capacity building and awareness about solar powered irrigation systems (SPIS) and climate smart agriculture (CSA) and strengthening private sector supply chains for SPIS and market access for farmers.
Fred has a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics and Mathematics all from Makerere University – Kampala, Uganda. He also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute.

Board member Sonja Duncan Image

SONJA DUNCAN

Sonja Duncan has 27 years environmental, sustainability, human rights and business planning experience with a strong knowledge of and passion for business, community and stakeholder consultation and engagement across a variety of industry sectors.
She has worked throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, including undertaking environmental and social impact audits and stakeholder consultation work in Laos, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. As part of this work, Sonja analyses audit outcomes and prepares comprehensive audit reports for her clients, including financial institutions.
Sonja has consulted on large scale infrastructure projects, reviewed water and wastewater management programs and systems, gold and copper mining projects and other local and national projects which required addressing the nexus between social (human rights), environmental and safety issues and ensuring risks are effectively managed and potential impacts are mitigated.
Sonja has extensive experience in sustainable supply chain management, having worked with businesses to assess sustainability and business risks across their supply chain and develop action plans to mitigate these risks. More recently, Sonja has been working with businesses to specifically assess the risks of modern slavery in operations and supply chain. She has undertaken gap analyses and supplier surveys, analyzed results and provided detailed client reports identifying risks and opportunities.
Sonja holds a Master of Laws from the University of New South Wales, a Master of Environmental Studies from the University of Newcastle, and a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Biology from the University of Newcastle. She further holds a Graduate Certificate in Sustainability from Swinburn University, and Certifications in Environmental Auditing, Workplace Training & Assessment, Workplace Safety, Marketing and Public Relations

Selena Griffith-min

SELENA GRIFFITH

Selena is the acting Chair of the Board of Directors at ASEI – Uganda and an experienced Design Thinker, Entrepreneur and former lecturer at UNSW. As a senior lecturer of Design Studies at UNSW, she coordinated courses in Design Management and Practice, identity, Branding, Sustainability, Whole Systems Design and Cross Disciplinary Collaboration for Innovation. Originally qualifying for a Bachelor of Industrial Design, Honors, Selena has worked as a design manager in a variety of contexts from in in-house to international consultancy.
Griffith researches in Design Management, Sustainability, Collaboration, Social Innovation, Futures and Education. She is very interested in how organizations can most effectively utilize design thinking to deliver more sustainable products and services. Further, her interests are in Co-creation and nexus – where people from different backgrounds and professions come together in collaboration that results in innovation and new perceptions and has developed courses to teach the skills needed to run multidisciplinary creative collaborations. She is a fellow of the Sydney School of Entrepreneurship and the European Academy of Design
