“NTUUma” is a local Ugandan word to mean “send me”. ASEI software engineers led by Keith Tumusiime assisted by Mayanja Andrew and Omurungi Crevan, have been at the fore front of developing an application that will enhance access to markets for SMEs in the agri-business sector in the Rwenzori region. The application is also intended to benefit the local tourism industry in Fort-Portal which is dubbed the Tourism City of Uganda by listing accommodation facilities, restaurants and tourist destinations in the region. ASEI has already developed the sketch for the app and is preparing to file applications to the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) to acquire patent rights. The organisation is looking for seed capital or investors who can fund the initial budget of the technology.
